Map the connected systems
ProConnect's current public materials describe a cloud-based professional tax product with QuickBooks integration, IRS transcript access, diagnostics, planning capabilities, document workflows, and simultaneous team work. Confirm current plan, pricing, and feature terms before purchase.
For each connection, name the authoritative record, direction of sync, timing, permissions, and correction process. Connected does not mean every value is current, complete, or tax-ready.
Reconcile books, documents, and client answers
A bookkeeping balance, source document, transcript, and organizer response can disagree. Build rules that surface differences and route them; do not choose a value merely because it arrived through an integration.
Retain the reconciliation outcome and reviewer rationale with the return. The evidence chain should survive staff changes and later questions.
Design for team review
Define who may edit, review, approve, and file. When multiple people work in a return, use clear task ownership and avoid parallel changes without communication.
Keep diagnostic clearance, material adjustments, client questions, and final authorization visible. If a connected tool maintains the task record, confirm links remain durable and access-controlled.
Pilot and govern
Test representative individual and business scenarios, QuickBooks conditions, spreadsheet imports, K-1s, transcripts, missing documents, and amended information. Record exceptions by type and root cause.
Review user access, data handling, vendor changes, and workflow performance at least annually and after material product updates.
